Using CAcertificates results in crash
10 March 2017, 08:44

I'm using hiawatha as a reverse proxy where hiawatha acts as a client and since the latest update the use of "CAcertificates = ssl_certs_dir" (ssl_certs_dir ... is only a placeholder for this report) results in a error preventing hiawatha from stating:

hiawathaError loading root CA certificates from ssl_certs_dir: BIGNUM - Bad input parameters to function (-0xFFFFFFFC)

Does it result in an actual crash or did it just stop executing with this error message?

The service (systemd) as it is seems to be running, but the hiawatha is not listening on the defined interface/port. Disabling this option works, but according to the man page this seems not to be a valid solution?

Most of the time, such error means there is something wrong with the key/cert file. You're sure it has the right format and information?

Since it is the basic linux install for openssl and the corresponding ssl certs directory, I'm pretty sure. Moreover it worked at until the last update.

I'll try it on a separate testing system and a fresh install and come back to you ... but this would still be strange
