HTTP Authentication through PAM ?

Hiawatha version: 7.3
Operating System: Debian

Hi, I didn't know where to put this topic, since this is less of a feature request and more like a discussion on the authentication back-end that could be used for http authentication. So, in simple words, is there an advantage of authenticating through PAM instead of using a passwd file ? If yes, could/should this feature be implemented in Hiawatha ?

PAM is nice if you want to use an already existing user/password source. Hiawatha cannot use PAM, but I've added it to the possible-features for the next release. No promises.
