Hiawatha version: 8
Operating System: CentOS 5.7

I installed Hiawatha 8 but when I start it, it changes ownership and permissions of /tmp to www/700. Why? And how to prevent this? Thanks.

Did you change the value of WorkDirectory to /tmp? Change it to /tmp/hiawatha instead. See the manual page for information about the WorkDirectory setting.

Thanks. I did not know about that setting since I never used it with prior versions. Is this new to Hiawatha 8? Also, if the parameter is not specified, maybe default could be /tmp/hiawatha instead of /tmp.

The parameter is not new in Hiawatha 8. The default is not /tmp. Did you download the source package from this website or did you download a CentOS package from another website? In that case, the CentOS package is wrong.
